Itemwriter
programs all have similar appearances and work in a similar way.
On startup, you (or the student) are asked to choose a level - easier,
harder, or your own items- and a beginning item. You can also set the
number of items displayed at once, increasing the number of students who
can benefit from this program, and providiing a way to increase the difficulty
of the items as a student improves. Itemwriter programs can also start
an unfinished session where the student left off. Below is the main menu
screen for Completing Familar Phrases.

Backgrounds and fonts are configurable, so you can choose the look you like!
You can also choose to display session time and percentage correct (bottom).
The program will keep these statistics even if not displayed so you can
review the success of the student later. Below is a screenshot from Analogies.

You can also write your own items! Its easy...just fill in the text boxes
with the item and possible answers. If you want (you don't have to), you
can record the items so the student can hear them spoken. Just click the
red button to record each item. You can modify any item or recording, and
add new ones as needed. Below is the Itemwriter for Synonyms & Antonyms.

What else can you do? You can choose to save a session, including total
time spent working, number of items attempted, percentage correct, and student
name - and you can print out session information too! Students can be warned
of items missed on the previous attempt - or listen to the item sets being
spoken by clicking a "mouth." Pictured below is a screen from
Drawing Conclusions.
